ŪNIT-RED represents a significant step forward from PROTOTYPE.RED, and serves as a progressive and evolved manifestation of Yūn Mago's ongoing battle with mental and chronic illness. Drawing upon her formative years of growing up in a Catholic environment, Mago aspires to untether herself from the traumatic experiences that have plagued her since her youth. By combining biblical imagery with advanced technology and a newfound appreciation for hardware, ŪNIT-RED symbolizes an angelic entity that has transcended the mental struggles that PROTOTYPE.RED embodies.
In essence, ŪNIT-RED represents a milestone in Mago's journey towards self-discovery and healing, as she continues to explore the intersection of spirituality, technology, and personal growth.
I visited the streets where I grew up on in my childhood home in the Philippines.
I feared the day this place would become nothing more than a memory to me.
But, after realizing the marks of my youth had been long erased from the concrete walls,
the decade-long conviction I had maintained of this place being “home” had vanished.
I came to understand
you can go back to the place that held your childhood,
but you will never be there again.
